A little bit about Bundy...

Bundaberg is not all work and no play. While you are earning some dollars fruit picking, there are plenty of attractions to explore. You can scuba dive, snorkel or trek along one of the 17 stinger-free beaches in the region. Wonder in the unique experience of seeing baby turtles hatch on the beaches of Mon Repos, whale watch off the coast, swim with the giant manta rays in the coral gardens of the southernmost part of the Great Barrier Reef.

Apart from the sun, sand and surf, there is a host of nature and adventure activities that you can join in, including canoeing the Elliot River, deep sea fishing, 4WD adventures in internationally acclaimed wildlife parks, nature treks, go-carting and scooter hire. At night you can enjoy a drink around the pool watching the sun go down over the river or party on in one of Bundy’s pubs.

Looking for a little less of the outdoors? Check out what Bundaberg has to offer. The world famous Bundaberg Rum Distillery has daily tours. But, if rum is not your cup of tea, then the Bundaberg Ginger Beer distillery offers a great insight into traditional brewing.

Beach walk

Bundaberg is full of history, including the Hinkler House museum in the beautiful Botanical gardens tells the life and accomplishments of pioneer aviator Bert Hinkler. Or, take a heritage walk on the streets of Bundy and soak up its old world charm.

If you are looking to take it easy, stroll along the boardwalk on the banks of the beautiful Burnett River, grab a coffee or enjoy an ale and kick back and relax. The sunsets over the river are simply grand.
